In order to operate the permanent magnetic actuator built into reclosers or fault interrupters, a lot of energy must be supplied to the tripping or closing coil instantaneously, and sufficient energy must always be stored in the capacitor banks for this purpose.

In the case of devices that perform the reclose sequence, such as reclosers, the ability to quickly charge the capacitor banks is also required to perform the reclose and protection operation according to the set reclose sequence.

BH-DC-PMA series drive modules consist of a DC/DC converter for charging capacitor banks and an output part consisting of a large-capacity IGBT for supplying the energy charged in the capacitor banks to the tripping and closing coil of the magnetic actuator.
