Sectionalizer

Overview

The BR-10A control in combination with the sectionalizer is installed on MV overhead distribution lines. It is connected to the sectionalizer through a single control cable, and measures and calculates various electrical quantities through voltage and current sensors built into the switch. In addition, it is an integrated control device that performs various functions such as status monitoring of the connected device and line, line fault detection, auto-sectionalizing, load shedding, battery management, and communications for remote operation.

It has an auxiliary DC supply, and a separate space for user devices such as modems, which could reduce initial costs when building automation systems.

Key Features

Applications

Used as a sectionalizer control to integrate into distribution automation system.

Used as a sectionalizer control to isolate faulty sections from the systems without communication.

Used as a switch control for load shedding.

Benefits

Effective and efficient system operation through real-time remote status monitoring and control by being integrated into distribution automation systems.

Minimize outage sections and duration by preventing wide-area outages that may be caused by faults near the end of lines or on the customer side.

Improve the power quality of distribution lines through load shedding.

Extend the useful life of protective devices by reducing the number of operations caused by faults.
